Graydon Foster was a talented musician, actor and performer, who graduated from MPS Etobicoke in 2008. He loved the school and the people and was enthusiastically involved in many aspects of school life. He was a member of the MPS Senior Concert and Jazz Bands and played a lead role in the 2008 MPS production of Beetlejuice. Graydon sang and played numerous instruments including both the acoustic and the electric guitar, the trombone, the euphonium, the piano and even the harmonica. He had a sincere love for music and inspired others with his passion. His premature departure from this world has left a huge void for all of us who knew him. We miss him, his music, his wit, his charm, and his warm and loving nature.
To honour his memory and to recognize his outstanding achievement in the Performing Arts, Graydon's family has decided to set up a scholarship award at MPS Etobicoke. It will be an annual award presented to the student who shows the most promise in music, drama or the arts.
In order to raise money for the fund, Graydon's mother Debora, father Eric and brothers Ryan, Colin and Chris aimed to reach new physical milestones. On Sunday, September 27, 2009 at the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, Eric and Ryan ran the half marathon, brother Colin in Switzerland ran the third, brother Chris in Minneapolis ran a new personal best - and Debora, ran the full 42 kms. This is a special time as Graydon would have turned 19 two days earlier on September 25.
